Large Format and Film

Our experience with medium format and large format photography extends back to the 1980's, before there was even a digital option.

Over twenty years later and the world of photography has changed again with digital technology, however there are still areas where digital has not superceded film. These applications include for example, billboard advertising where extremely large reproduction sizes are required and specialist photography where quality has to border on perfection.

This is most easily seen in landscape photography where for anyone who has not seen a 4x5 the difference in image quality is astounding. Digital still cannot match the depth and tonality of traditional film, only at the very cutting edge of technology are gains being made on this last bastion of traditional photography.

These days our use of film is limited to 4x5 in the commercial product market such as automotive and similar, and well ocassionally for fun!
